I am back!!!

Hey Peeps,

I am back,Did you you miss me?? So much has happened since my last post. As some of you know my sweet daughter deals with mental illness and with that comes not such good days for everyone. Also my ex-brother in laws has burned down. My sister's kids were safe but his ex-fiance kids were not. Two made it out, sadly Ayden did not. With that come lots of blame, anger, and a variety of emotions from the mothers of these kids. I did a donation run for them as well as one of the churches. My ex-brother in law,Toby was blessed with a new trailer home(Free). Lots of people donated new beds and so many new house stuff. One of the local funeral homes donated the casket and Aydens flower arrangements. My heart broke and still breaks for my nieces and nephew who lost their half brother.
Some of you know my daughter will begin public school again after four years of homeschooling, yes, she has attended before. I am praying and hoping this will be a positive thing for us both. I need a break and need someone who is trained more in this area of her life. There is a season for everything and can not wait to buy some fun school supplies for her.
What are some ways you save money and favorite stores for school supplies? As always thanks for reading!

Schedule

Hi Peeps!

Couple of days ago, I attended a used homeschool curriculum sale. I was so excited to be able to find three subjects with no writing in the books! Saves my hand a Ton of pain from erasing.   I really enjoy homeschooling through the whole year. I feel like if I get behind or sick we have time to make sure we can catch up. Today,I sat down and planned our new schedule out for the 2016-2017 school year. The only two subjects, I need to purchase are math and vocabulary. Here is my sons schedule for this upcoming school year. Right now he is on summer break and is even planning on a summer camp for Boy Scouts.

What are some of you guys school schedules like and curriculum you love.

Different Seasons

Hi Peeps!

Every since we toured the school for my daughter. My son has been interested in attending as well. I told him he had to complete seventh grade at home which will be this fall. My heart kind of breaks because I enjoy my time with my kids. However,I know they need and want their independence.

Today he went to the doctor and got a wellness check up. Nothing like getting a shot and a physical he took it like a Champ! I totally thought he deserved the snicker blast from Sonic like he asked. The doctor he saw today asked him what school he attended. My son proudly said, homeschooling! This guy was like that's awesome,my wife and I plan on homeschooling our kids. Then proceeded to ask me what curriculum I use so I shared some of my knowledge and homeschool groups available.

Hope you guys have a wonderful day and as always thank you for reading!

Hello ER

Hi Peeps!

Nothing like feeling horrible then suddenly feeling like your are  going to die. Our house has been Smack with the stomach bug. I will spare you the details but the trash can and toilet were my friends. I passed out several times(at least 12). My husband took me to the ER after, I threw up just one more time. My husband help me get in our van while my sweet daughter got towels and more bags just in case.

Our town recently starting getting these set alone ER clinic type things.
My husband went inside to let them know,I needed a wheelchair . I held my head so the bright lights wouldn't make me feel more sick. The motion of the van and wheelchair ride certainly didn't help. I was severely dehydrated, low blood pressure, and white blood cell count was up,oh joy. Now,I get two bags of fluid, nausea medicine, three blankets, bottled water, only if, I promised to wet my mouth. Blood taken, urine sample, and oh yes, please drink this nasty water mix we need a ct scan. I went in at 9pm and didn't leave til four in the morning.

I do have to say, they treated my husband and I, Very well. Made sure I had enough blankets as long as no fever. Asked my husband if he needed, blanket, pillow,or a drink. As we are waiting for this lovely contrast to go through my body. My daughter texted us she has just now gotten sick,oy.
As we are leaving the registration lady gives my husband a goody bag for me and my nurse hands me a blanket with their logo on it. The waiting area was so pretty now that I was able to see it but glad to leave.

My kids seem to be much better as in tolerating food and just moving everywhere. As, I am sick to my stomach, tired, and just feel blah, sickness always hits me hard.
                                                       My daughter took my blanket.
***Update*** I am doing much better but get tired easily***Update***

                                                                      Waiting area
Nurses station on the left and on the right patient rooms.

I had a Very professional and wonderful experience.

Its Hard

Hi Peeps!

Lately my husband and I have been battling some bad news. He is a guy so he takes it more as a disappointment and I take it differently. Since we have some infertility problems we thought why not adopt a child who could use a good home. Due to my daughter's mental illness we were told we can not adopt til she is stable. My heart is broken not just for me but for my child. My daughter is an amazing, beautiful, talented, artist, and animal lover. Life is hard sometimes but we are doing the best we can.

If you have wondered how to Adopt. I did a blog about that and if you have any questions,I will do my best to answer them. There is a ton of kids out there who need a wonderful home to feel loved, protected, and stable.

What breaks my heart is my beautiful daughter literally only has one friend. I am sure it's due to her mental illness and moodiness. She is trying hard to be "normal" and some days are harder than others. Monday, I was able to get a 504 for her starting school in the fall. A 504 will give her acommendations in school. I will miss homeschooling her and getting that extra time with her. I know this is best for her right now. My heart is still broken for her in different ways.

Stigma is a mark of disgrace that sets a person apart. When a person is labelled by their illness they are seen as part of a stereotyped group. Negative attitudes create prejudice which leads to negative actions and discrimination.

Toured the school

Hi Peeps!

Yesterday, we toured the school my daughter will be attending in the fall. I could tell she was nervous, she talks a Lot. They were nice and answered all of her questions.

We saw the cafeteria packed with tons of students. They looked at us while we looked at them. My daughter said,Wow that's loud.

We also go to take a sneak peak in the computer labs.

Checked out the library.

Told which halls lead to which classrooms. They answered all of our questions, including paper work. Before we left we check out one of the gyms.

Do any of you have any advice for her first day of school?

Smells Good

Hi Peeps!

Having a child with a mental illness is hard but this whole week so far has been hard. When my little sister(she is 20) asked if I wanted to go candle shopping,I was like, yes. We got a Yankee candle store in our mall and she was like Oooooo. First, we had dinner at Corner Bakery. I enjoyed the Chicken Pomodori on sourdough. It has all-natural chicken, fresh basil, and spinach, roasted tomatoes and provolone cheese with pesto mayo(780cal). I got a dill pickle and chips but only ate my pickle. I also enjoyed a M&M cookie. Next we headed to the Yankee candle store and this is what I purchased.

They even spray the tissue paper with room spray!

I got tealight candles of Jamaican Vacation  and a car freshener.
                                                         I highly recommend this scent!
You can't go wrong with coupons.
June 6th they are having an Up to 75% off sale!
What is your favorite scent ?

Vitiligo Struggle

Hi Peeps!

Wanted to share my struggle with Vitiligo. Short version it sucks and is embarrassing. Here is the Longer version:

WHAT CAUSES VITILIGO?
The cause is not known. Vitiligo may be an autoimmune disease. These diseases happen when your immune system mistakenly attacks some part of your own body. In vitiligo, the immune system may destroy the melanocytes in the skin. It is also possible that one or more genes may make a person more likely to get the disorder.
Some researchers think that the melanocytes destroy themselves. Others think that a single event such as sunburn or emotional distress can cause vitiligo. But these events have not been proven to cause vitiligo.
WHO IS AFFECTED BY VITILIGO?
Many people develop it in their twenties, but it can occur at any age. The disorder affects all races and both sexes equally, however, it is more noticeable in people with dark skin.
People with certain autoimmune diseases (such as hyperthyroidism) are more likely to get vitiligo than people who don’t have any autoimmune diseases. Scientists do not know why vitiligo is connected with these diseases. However, most people with vitiligo have no other autoimmune disease.
Vitiligo may also run in families. Children whose parents have the disorder are more likely to develop vitiligo. However, most children will not get vitiligo even if a parent has it.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF VITILIGO?
White patches on the skin are the main sign of vitiligo. These patches are more common in areas where the skin is exposed to the sun. The patches may be on the hands, feet, arms, face, and lips. Other common areas for white patches are:
  • The armpits and groin (where the leg meets the body)
  • Around the mouth
  • Eyes
  • Nostrils
  • Navel
  • Genitals
  • Rectal areas.
People with vitiligo often have hair that turns gray early. Those with dark skin may notice a loss of color inside their mouths.
WILL THE WHITE PATCHES SPREAD?
There is no way to tell if vitiligo will spread. For some people, the white patches do not spread. But often the white patches will spread to other areas of the body. For some people, vitiligo spreads slowly, over many years. For other people, spreading occurs quickly. Some people have reported more white patches after physical or emotional stress.
HOW IS VITILIGO DIAGNOSED?
The doctor will use a family and medical history, physical exam, and tests to diagnose vitiligo. The doctor may ask questions such as:
  • Do you have family members with vitiligo?
  • Do you or family members have any autoimmune diseases?
  • Did you have a rash, sunburn, or other skin problem before the white patches appeared?
  • Did you have some type of stress or physical illness?
  • Did your hair turn gray before age 35?
  • Are you sensitive to the sun?
The doctor will do a physical exam to rule out other medical problems.
Tests might include:
  • Taking a small sample (biopsy) of the affected skin to be examined
  • Blood tests
  • An eye exam.
HOW IS VITILIGO TREATED?
Treatment may help make the skin look more even. The choice of treatment depends on:
  • The number of white patches
  • How widespread the patches are
  • The treatment the person prefers to use.
Some treatments are not right for everyone. Many treatments can have unwanted side effects. Treatments can take a long time, and sometimes they don’t work.
Current treatment options for vitiligo include medical, surgical, and other treatments. Most treatments are aimed at restoring color to the white patches of skin.
Medical treatments include:
  • Medicines (such as creams) that you put on the skin
  • Medicines that you take by mouth
  • A treatment that uses medicine plus ultraviolet A (UVA) light (PUVA)
  • Removing the color from other areas so they match the white patches.
Surgical treatments include:
  • Skin grafts from a person’s own tissues. The doctor takes skin from one area of a patient’s body and attaches it to another area. This is sometimes used for people with small patches of vitiligo.
  • Tattooing small areas of skin.
Other treatments include:
  • Sunscreens
  • Cosmetics, such as makeup or dye, to cover the white patches
  • Counseling and support.
WHAT CAN PEOPLE DO TO COPE WITH VITILIGO?
When you have vitiligo, you may be upset or depressed about the change in your appearance. There are several things you can do to cope with the disorder:
  • Find a doctor who knows how to treat vitiligo. The doctor should also be a good listener and be able to provide emotional support.
  • Learn about the disorder and treatment choices. This can help you make decisions about your treatment.
  • Talk with other people who have vitiligo. A vitiligo group can help you find a support group (check your local listings). Family and friends are another source of support.
Some people with vitiligo have found that cosmetics that cover the white patches improve their appearance and help them feel better about themselves. A person may need to try several brands of concealing cosmetics before finding the product that works best.
WHAT RESEARCH IS BEING DONE ON VITILIGO?
Scientists have gained a better understanding of vitiligo in recent years, especially through gene research. Current research includes studies to investigate:
  • How trauma or stress to the skin can trigger vitiligo or the development of new white patches.
  • New treatments and better understanding of vitiligo using a mouse model.
  • Genes that may cause or contribute to having vitiligo.
  • Analysis of genes already known to be linked to vitiligo.
